A study from the National Sleep Foundation found the following relationship between communications technology and sleep:

  • 43% of Americans say they rarely or never get a good night’s sleep
  • Almost 95% of those surveyed said that they use some kind of electronic device in the hour before bedtime and 61% said they use a computer or laptop within an hour of going to bed
  • 36% say they are using computers or laptops in their bedrooms within an hour of going to bed
  • (These people are less likely to report getting a good night’s sleep)
